MUNIR ZULU ARRESTED AGAIN
Police in Lusaka have charged and arrested Lumezi Member of Parliament Munir Zulu for the offence of expressing or showing hatred, ridicule or contempt for persons because of race, tribe, place of origin or color contrary to section 70 (1) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
This is in connection with the alleged utterances he made on March 28, 2023 at Longacre Police Post Car Park after his release from police custody.
Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale says Mr. Zulu, 35 of Meanwood Ndeke area has since been released on police bond pending court appearance.
Mr. Zulu was again last month arrested and charged with three counts of libel in connection with defamatory remarks he made against government officials.
