MTN Uganda has appointed Safaricom’s long-serving executive Sylvia Mulinge as its new CEO beginning October 1st 2022.
Sylvia who joined Safaricom in 2006 replaces Wim Vanhelleputte, who will take on the new MTN Group role of Operations Executive: Markets.
Ms. Mulinge will be responsible for driving the consumer telecoms business and also manage the overall brand, and leading the transformation of the brand to become a digital lifestyle enabler of consumers’ lives.
Her last working day at Safaricom will be 30th September 2022.
