Millie Bobby Brown announces her engagement on Instagram with a lyric from Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’

Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that she is engaged to her boyfriend of two-and-a-half years Jake Bongiovi.

The Stranger Things actress, 19, announced the news with a sweet Instagram post on Tuesday alongside her beau, who is the son of legendary singer Jon Bon Jovi. 

Showing off her glimmering rock with a monochrome picture, the teenage star beamed from ear to ear while in the arms of her new fiancé.

Celebrating the joyous news, the smitten couple took part in a beachy photoshoot – with Millie dressed in a crochet dress while Jake donned a cream polo shirt. 

The announcement confirms some speculation that has been circulating on social media over recent weeks, after she flashed a glimpse at the ring in a recent post.

Posing behind the wheel of a convertible car in a picture last month, Millie looked away from the camera and lifted her hand in the air, showing the prominent diamond ring on her finger. 

While she also sparked rumours in August when she was seen wearing a gold diamond ring on her wedding finger during a PDA-packed outing. 

Sharing that they had spent ‘three summers’ together in the announcement post, it comes after the actress recently dished the dirt on how she and Jake met.

Millie explained that they connected on Instagram and became friends through the platform, before romance was sparked.

And a month later Jake shouted out Millie on her 19th birthday, writing “Another year around the sun together happy 19th to the girl of my dreams. I love you more than words can describe. Everything about you is golden down to the core.”

19-year-old Millie and 20-year-old Jake (who is the son of Jon Bon Jovi) have been together since 2021, and decided to share their relationship publicly in November 2021. They made their red carpet debut together in 2022 at the BAFTAs and have continued to share glimpses into their adorable relationship on Instagram ever since.

Fans immediately flocked to Millie and Jake’s comment section as soon as the photos were posted to share their messages of congratulations. One fan wrote: “Congratulationssssssssss!” Another joked about Millie’s BFF Noah Schnapp’s role in the wedding: “I hope Noah is the flower girl ong”
