Meghan Markle has continued to shed light on why she decided to ditch the UK and move back to Los Angeles as she recalled how British media outlets were often filled with comments from people who referred to her children by the N-word. 

Before she and husband Prince Harry decided to quit their duties as members of the royal family, Markle said she was required to give photos of her son, Archie, to the Royal Rota, which handles Queen Elizabeth and her line of succession’s publicity. In her latest interview with The Cut, published on Monday, she explained, “There’s literally a structure. Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?”

“You tell me how that makes sense and then I’ll play that game.” She took matters in her own hands after she and Harry opened up their own Instagram account and decided to share exclusive content on their official social media as opposed to handing them to the Royal Rota since they were constantly scrutinized by the British media and its readers. 

Markle, who is biracial, had previously told Oprah Winfrey that the bullying she endured while living in the UK was “almost unsurvivable” and that a certain member of the royal family had even dared to make a racist remark, questioning how dark Archie’s skin color would be prior to his birth.
