MetroBoomin shares the message Takeoff sent him after his mother passed away this year.

There were two other people shot in the gunfire that killed Takeoff — and one of those people is Quavo’s assistant — TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us Joshua “Wash” Washington is the 23-year-old male who was shot and rushed to a local hospital by someone at the scene in the minutes following the melee … cops described his injuries as non-life threatening.

Afterward, Fif shared a message to Quavo about keeping Takeoff’s legacy alive. He shared a clip of Steven Victor discussing Pop Smoke’s posthumous debut album, Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon. Fif encouraged Quavo to similarly come with new music in order to keep Takeoff’s legacy alive.

Takeoff was killed during a shooting following an argument outside a bowling alley in Houston in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Video footage shows a man holding a gun in the moments before the gunfire. Police say the individual is a person of interest in the shooting investigation.

Takeoff’s Migos bandmates have yet to comment on his death, but Offset changed his Instagram profile to Takeoff. Quality Control Music also released a statement mourning the “monumental loss.”

“It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff,” said the label. “Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated.”

Quality Control CEO, Pierre “P” Thomas, also shared an emotional tribute. “Young King @yrntakeoff I don’t know where to begin but I want to say that anybody that knows me knows how much I love you and anybody that knows you knows that you definitely didn’t deserve to die at such a young age,” he wrote. “You came from the stars so I know you will forever be up there watching down on all of us. I will forever love you.”

The tributes have also poured in from the hip-hop community including Drake and Desiigner, who announced in an emotional video that he is done with rap in the wake of the tragedy.

In video obtained by TMZ from the scene, you can see Quavo in an argument and then start to walk away as shots ring out. There’s also video showing one man holding a gun to his side … police have named that man as a person of interest in Takeoff’s death.

50 Cent was among those that paid tribute to Takeoff on social media and during his live performance. Yesterday, he shared his condolences to Quality Control’s P after he shared a heartbreaking statement regarding Take’s passing.

“bro i’m sorry for your loss,I read your post and thought it would have took me 3 hours to write that i can imagine all kinda confusion going on. hold your head man bro,” Fif wrote

“This is really how it goes @quavohuncho you have to position this Album correctly for Take Offs Legacy, go make a couple changes and address everything all artist make the best music out of painful moments. R.I.P to pop smoke. R.I.P to TakeOff,” he wrote.

In the clip, Steven Victor discusses how 50 Cent called him “selfish” for holding out on releasing Pop’s album. Fif explained that Victor had a responsibility to carry out Pop Smoke’s plans after his passing, including the release of the project.

This week, Fif made sure to honor Takeoff at a concert in Finland. He shared a photo on Instagram of his show, which included photos of Takeoff displayed on the screens on stage.
