A suspected kidnapper arrested by the Force Intelligence Bureau’s (FIB) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has said he planned with three others to kidnap his ex-lover in order to raise money to marry her. (Read More Here).










Bello Ahmed, 25, resident in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said he arranged to kidnap his lover, Hannah Queen, following the pressure she put on him to marry her


The suspects all between the age group of 20-30 years were identified as Bello Ahmed, 25, Ibrahim Mohammed, 30, Bilyamiyu Mohammed, 30, and Uche Daniel, 30. It is reported that Ahmed relocated to Nigeria and rented a three-bedroom apartment in the victim’s estate at Apo, Abuja.





It was gathered that he executed the kidnap on March 26 at Suniville Estate, Apo and the case was reported to the police by one of the uncles of the victim who is an Assistant Commissioner of Police and the Police team arrested the suspects after they had released her.


The suspect, it was gathered, staged an invasion of his apartment when the victim visited and made it look as though his accomplices had kidnapped him and his lover. The victim, a lawyer and a daughter of a renowned diplomat, was relaxing in the living room when the gang invaded and took her and her lover captive.





After the criminal gang members took them into captivity, he made the victim to believe that he had sent N10 million to the kidnappers for their release through a fake bank alert until she discovered the antics and started calling her parents for her release. The key suspect confessed that they expected a total of N50 million as ransom from the parents of the victim adding that he had expected that the gang would get up to at least N10 million naira (N10million) each?


According to the police, investigations revealed that Ahmed was married and had two children in Dubai, adding that he planned to keep Queen as his second wife.





Ahmed confessed, saying, “My ex-lover put so much pressure on me to marry her and I kidnapped her in order to raise the money I needed. I regret my involvement in the act.”
