Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Maranda High school has been closed and three students have been arrested for allegedly setting The Boaz Owino Complex Dormitory in Siaya County on fire. (Read More Here).
According to information, it was reported at 11:00AM that The Boaz Owino Complex Dormitory with 630 capacity was reportedly on fire. The dormitory usually housed form one students of the aforementioned school.
After the fire outbreak, the school management came to a conclusion to close the school indefinitely. Before the fire outbreak, unknown students wrote on the walls of toilets that the school building will be set on fire, which eventually happened.
The school’s Board of Management Chairperson Eng. Carey Orege while speaking to Radio Ramogi confirmed that the three students apprehended are in Form Two, adding that they are currently helping with investigations.

According to information, the sudden cause of the fire hasn’t been ascertained at the time of filing the report.
Recall that two days ago, over four (400) hundred Maranda High school form 4 students were sent home after refusing to sit for mock examinations.
According to information, they also threatened to set the school on fire. In a new post shared by Osoro jnr., he confirmed that Siaya County government fire engine has arrived at the school compound to put out the fire.
According to information, no causalities were recorded. Everyone is fine and in good conditions.
