Although Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Roberto Canseco personally arrived at the scene and protested against the actions of the police, this did not help. Mexico immediately began the process of severing diplomatic relations with Ecuador; Mexican diplomats will leave Ecuador “immediately.”


Meanwhile, the director of Latin America Watch, Agustin Antonelli, said that the Mexican government could declare war on Ecuador for invading the embassy, ​​and such a decision would not be hindered.
