Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Malawi’s President Chakwera has stripped Deputy President Chilima of his powers over corruption.
He also fired the Inspector General of Police, and suspended his Chief of Staff.
In 2021, he fired a Minister for mismanaging $800 and arrested 14 public officials for a $7.8m fraud. In 2021, Malawi’s former Minister of Home Affairs, Uladi Mussa was sentenced to 6 years in prison for illegal issuing of a passport
Malawi seized 78 cars and real estate properties from former Presidential Bodyguard, Norman Chisale.
Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera also suspended the Chairperson for the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority over the corruption scandal.
