Billie Eilish’s ex, Jesse Rutherford, appears to be singing about her with disturbing lyrics on new song, “POV”.
Billie Eilish is talked about in a predatory way by flop artist Jesse Rutherford in new song.
Billie Eilish’s ex-boyfriend Jesse Rutherford raises eyebrows with the lyrics on his new song “POV”. On the newly-released track, Jesse seemingly talks about his past relationship with the “Bad Guy” singer, but fans found the lyrics disturbing considering the age gap of the exes.
“I’m the top, you’re at the bottom/ It’s a different point of view/ Calling out ‘and one’ every time I point and shoot,” he sings. He also serenades about feeling “like Alejandro when she Gaga on my goo,” which fans believe has a sexual innuendo.
You know them. It’s a wild pass. The show we did in Argentina was one of the best shows of my life, it was damn crazy,” said the singer born in California 21 years ago, when reviewing her first performance in the country, in which she gathered some 100,000 people in the San Isidro Hippodrome.
What the Dua Lipa podcast is like and where to listen to it At the end of June, Dua Lipa launched the third season of her podcast, “Dua Lipa: At Your Service”, where she chats with artists, influencers and cultural icons worldwide. It started this third year with Amelia Dimoldenberg, the host of the viral series “Chicken Shop Date.
The last time Billie Eilish played at Lollapalooza in Chicago was in 2018, before the release of her smash debut album, 2019’s, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Before her Oscar, her Golden Globe and her seven Grammy Awards.
Back then, she was an up-and-coming 16-year-old playing the handful of songs she and brother/producer Finneas had written together in her childhood bedroom — plus a cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” — and if you wanted to see her you had to find the vodka-sponsored side stage where she made the first of many impressive first impressions.
Thursday night (August 3) in Chicago, however, things were way, way different. This time Eilish was one of the undisputed must-see headliners, drawing a modest midwestern town size sprawling audience to close out the first night of this year’s four-day Lollapalooza Festival on the city’s lakeshore.
On a warm, sunny day that featured ecstatically received sets from rising K-pop girl group NewJeans, a mob scene craning to see Vermont folk rock sensation Noah Kahan, a surprise appearance by Nelly Furtado during Dom Dolla’s set in the Perry’s Stage dance area and a pop-splosion from Carly Rae Jepsen, the table was set for Eilish to bring it all back home in style on the main stage.
Twenty One Pilots is among the big stars that will take the stage at the 2023 editions of Lollapalooza in Chile, Argentina and Brazil. The band joined the festival this week after the departure of Blink-182 due to an injury to the drummer’s hands. Lil Nas X, Rosalía, Jane’s Addiction and The 1975 will also be part of the line-up.
This will be Drake’s first performance in Argentina and Chile, while for Eilish it will be the first time in South America.
The Chilean edition will also feature performances by Armin Van Buuren, Fred Again… , Tove Lo, Gorgon City, Rise Against, Conan Gray, Wallows, Tokischa and more.
At one point of the song, Jesse throws things back to 2013, singing, “She been listening to me since 2013/ I know she’s got daddy issues, welcome to the family/ She said, ‘Jesse, baby, won’t you write a song about me?/ I said, ‘I got a whole album, I could drop it next week.’ “
Upon listening to the song, fans pointed out that Billie was underage in 2013 as she was only 12 at the time. Jesse, meanwhile, was 22 in that year.
LYRICS OF POV BY Jesse Rutherford:
I’m at the top, you’re at the bottom
It’s a different point of view
Calling out “and one” every time I point and shoot
Yeah, yeah, uh
Uh-huh, uh
(Top-top-top)
I’m at the top, you’re at the bottom
It’s a different point of view
Calling out “and one” every time I point and shoot
On the clock, nonstop I keep winning, I can’t lose
Feel like Alejandro when she Gaga on my goo
I’m at the top, you’re at the bottom
It’s a different POV
Polo socks, in my Docs and the top is CDG
Got a watch on my shoulder, heart up on my sleeve
And they told me it was over, imma disagree
Top five, dead or alive
Every city I show up they posting me up like a wanted sign, yeah
Feel like Jesse James, robbed a bank
Bringing change back to the gang
New whip, I’m switching lanes
Got the same fit as yesterday
Skrrt off in that Bradley Coupe, me and you
Run away, I rendezvous
Red dress on like Betty Boop
Yeah, we so cute, I could puke, blegh
‘Cause I ain’t ever been this high
But I’m not tryna come down
Not expecting you to realize
Where I’m coming from now
I’m at the top, you’re at the bottom
It’s a different point of view
Calling out “and one” every time I point and shoot
On the clock, nonstop I keep winning, I can’t lose
Feel like Alejandro when she Gaga on my goo
I’m at the top, you’re at the bottom
It’s a different POV
Polo socks, in my Docs and the top is CDG
Got a watch on my shoulder, heart up on my sleeve
And they told me it was over, imma disagree
She been listening to me since 2013
I know she’s got daddy issues, welcome to the family
She said “Jesse, baby, won’t you write a song about me?”
I said “I got a whole album, I could drop it next week”
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Shorty come with me, watch your money get longer
Turn into an all-star in a pair of Converse
Blew up by myself, I feel like the Unabomber
‘Cause I ain’t ever been this high
But I’m not tryna come down
Not expecting you to realize
Where I’m coming from now
I’m at the top, you’re at the bottom
It’s a different point of view
Calling out “and one” every time I point and shoot
On the clock, nonstop I keep winning, I can’t lose
Feel like Alejandro when she Gaga on my goo
I’m at the top, you’re at the bottom
It’s a different POV
Polo socks, in my Docs and the top is CDG
Got a watch on my shoulder, heart up on my sleeve
And they told me it was over, imma disagree
(It’s Jesse, baby)
I ain’t ever been this high
But I’m not tryna come down
Not expecting you to realize
Where I’m coming from now
