In this modest environment, Foster’s potential was quickly recognized by local coaches and scouts as they saw in him the makings of a future football star. As he honed his skills and continued to rise through the ranks of the South African football system, Foster’s family remained his unwavering support system, nurturing his dreams and ambitions.

Foster joined the Orlando Pirates academy, where he displayed promising performances, which ultimately earned him a promotion to the first team in 2017.

Foster’s journey in European football began when he was noticed and landed a contract with French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in 2019 and paid a substantial fee of €1.20 million to Orlando Pirates for the services of the then-18-year-old. Initially, he played for AS Monaco’s B team under coach David Bechkoura. The South African forward’s journey continued through Belgium and Portugal, preparing him for what was to come.
