LOONA’s agency announces Chuu’s removal from the group in a statement.

‘after recently being told of Chuu’s violent language & misuse of power toward our staff the truth was found upon investigation. [..] we have decided to take responsibility for this & remove Chuu from LOONA.‘

On November 25, LOONA’s label Blockberry Creative confirmed Chuu is no longer a member after multiple rumors and speculation by fans about her pending withdrawal from the girl group. According to the label, Chuu was removed from the group due to her alleged “abuse of power,” including her alleged abusive language towards staff. 

Blockberry Creative stated, “We’re announcing our artist Chuu has been expelled from LOONA as of November 25, 2022. There were many stories about Chuu, but the company and members of LOONA did not say anything for a time to prevent problems concerning the development of the team and fans. Because of LOONA’s affection for the team and consideration of the fans, they tried their best to show good performances and content rather than telling the truth.”

The label continued, “We recently investigated Chuu’s abuse of power, including abusive language toward our staff. The company’s head is currently apologizing and comforting staff. We decided to take responsibility and remove Chuu from LOONA. We sincerely apologize to the fans who’ve loved and supported LOONA until now and ask for your forgiveness that the 12 members couldn’t stay together until the end. We and LOONA will do our best to make sure nothing like this happens in the future.”

“However, recently, there have been reports that Chuu has been verbally abusive and misusing her power against the staff. It turned out to be true, and the agency’s head is now consoling the staff members. The agency has decided to take responsibility and remove Chuu from the group.

“We apologize to the staff who have been greatly hurt by this incident.”

Loona will now be an 11-member group. Chuu debuted as a member in 2017 and has seen great success in television and advertisement appearances.

Back in June, BlockBerryCreative denied rumors of Chuu singing with another agency. In October, reports arose that Chuu set up her own agency, to which BlockBerryCreative also commented, “The rumors of her transfer are groundless.”
