Lamiez Holworthy’s mother was left angered by trolls questioning her about the origin of her children.

Imelda, who is also the DJ’s manager, set the record straight after people pointed out how different her three children looked from each other.

When speaking to Truelove magazine about comments about her family, Lamiez said she was constantly asked whether she was adopted.

“I love my hood, Pretoria, but I grew up in a predominantly Indian community, Laudium, which I found to be racist. I could only speak English and Afrikaans and got tired of people asking if I was adopted so I taught myself vernac.

“I didn’t fit in because I wasn’t coloured or Indian enough by societal standards and definitely not black enough because of the language barrier.”
