Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated the duo of badminton star, Feranmi Adekunle Aguda and eight-year-old athlete, Adeela Adedeji, both of whom have recently won laurels at different international sports competitions.
This is coming after Adeela in a viral clip, expressed sadness that she wasn’t congratulated by her Governor. While Feranmi won four gold medals and one bronze for Nigeria at a badminton tournament in Cameroon, eight-year-old Adeela won a silver medal at the Africa Gymnastics Clubs Championships in Pretoria, South Africa. The two superstars are from Kwara State.
In a statement on Saturday, the Governor said the government and the people of Kwara State will always be proud to associate with the two athletes for their uncommon strides and for adorning the state’s long list of sports champions with their own laurels.
“All of us in Kwara are proud of Feranmi and of the little Adeela for the honour they have brought to the state. They are our super stars! We celebrate them and certainly look forward to seeing them always reaching for the stars and breaking all the glass ceilings in the future,” the Governor said in a statement in honour of the little girl.
I personally look forward to hosting them as a mark of respect for their excellence, hardwork and focus, and to encourage others to dream big in every good thing they venture into, especially their academics and other vocations,” the governor said in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
