Waller played college football from 2011 to 2014 as a wide receiver at Georgia Tech , with the Yellow Jackets playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) of Division I of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) . Waller was a reserve in his first year with the team and then, starting from the 2012 season, he was increasingly a protagonist. In particular, he stood out in the 2014 Orange Bowl against Mississippi State with five receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown.
Waller gave up his final year of college football eligibility to enter the 2015 NFL Draft .
