King Misuzulu KaZwelithini is admitted to the hospital after feeling ill and suspecting poisoning in Swaziland. That came after one of his Indunas, Xaba, who was believed to have been poisoned, died.
Statement:
“Official Statement: Concern for the Health of His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini
We have received distressing news regarding the health of His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, and it is with great concern that we address the nation. We were informed by HRH Prince Vumile, brother to His Majesty King Mswati Ill, that His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has been admitted to a hospital in eSwatini after falling ill earlier today.
Regrettably, we have also been informed of the sudden passing of His Majesty’s senior Induna, Mr Xaba, who had been in the King’s company. There are suspicions surrounding his demise, suggesting the possibility of poisoning. Upon experiencing discomfort, His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini himself became suspicious of having been subjected to poisoning.
“In light of this concern, His Majesty sought medical attention in eSwatini. It is important to note that His Majesty felt uneasy about seeking treatment in South Africa due to the unfortunate circumstances in which both of his parents received treatment and subsequently passed away.
Currently, His Majesty is receiving medical care and is reported to be in a stable condition. As soon as additional information becomes available, it will be duly communicated. While Prince Africa Zulu has recently been appointed as head of communication and stakeholder relations in His Majesty’s office, I, as the traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch and Nation, have a responsibility to inform the nation about this worrisome situation.
“Our primary concern at this time is His Majesty’s well-being, and we, as the Zulu Nation, offer our prayers for his complete and swift recovery. If circumstances warrant further investigation, appropriate authorities will address the matter accordingly.”
