Khuli Chana owes SARS more than R1 113 385 in unpaid taxes.
Khuli Chana owes R615 000 VAT.
R30 000 in PAYE.
The amount is now more R445 000 after SARS imposed R11 000 penalties and over R135 000 interest.
Khuli Chana also owes R19 000 in UIF. Despite his tax woes, South Africans have been trying to connect the dots on his supposed riches. Reports have it that SARS has since turned to the courts for a judgement against Khuli Chana.
The court papers state that the star owes SARS more than R426 000 for value-added tax through his company Khuli Chana Holdings.
However, in the backdrop of the news, Chana has yet to address the daring rumours that have thrust him into the spotlight. Undoubtedly, he is not the first star celebrity to make headlines for the wrong reasons.
The SARS once had a showdown with producer and TV presenter Kgomotso Matsunyane’s company, alleging it owed SARS over R1.5-million in unpaid VAT.
