Katsina State Ministry of Education (Zonal Education Quality Assurance Katsina), has banned the use of a popular social media platform, WhatsApp groups across all secondary schools in the state.
According to the official statement, WhatsApp groups were banned because it’s believed that it can create problems and insubordination between the school authority and the staff.
The statement reads:

I’m directed to write and inform all the principals to direct the various Group Admin in their respective schools to wipe out the so-called school WhatsApp.
2. The abolishing of this group becomes necessary due to the various postings being made which create problems and insubordination between the school authority and the staff.
