Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that South African singer, Kabelo Mabalane has reportedly reached out to his victim, Noni Gasa (his former girlfriend) after being dragged by South Africans for participating in a GBV campaign, No Excuse. (Read More Here).

A day ago, Kabelo, revealed that he had participated in a 16-Day of Activism campaign, #NoExcuse, to help educate people (men especially) on Gender Based Violence (GBV).

He wrote: “Last week we launched #NoExcuse.

A campaign that vehemently condemns intimate partner violence.

As a young man I too was a perpetrator of this shameful cowardly behaviour.

“The shame and the embarrassment made me shy away from these spaces and I’ve since learned that as important as it is to take full responsibility for this reprehensible unacceptable behaviour, I am also now at a place where I appreciate the importance of lending my voice to fighting this pandemic.

To the perpetrators there is hope and there is healing. Don’t be afraid to get help.

#NoExcuse.”

After sharing the post, a lot of South African women weren’t happy at all, because he was once an abuser. South African women began to remind about his victim, Noni Gasa, whom he partially left deaf due to the beatings he gave her.

South Africans began to persuade him to reach out to Noni Gasa and apologise to her and make things up.

Speaking with Sowetan Live, Thursday, kabelo revealed he had reached out to his victim and former girlfriend, Noni Gasa, but it wasn’t successful.

He says: “Yes I have. Unsuccessfully so. I’m not at liberty to speak on the matter as the survivor deserves her right to privacy.”

Recall that Kabelo Mabalane and Noni Gasa used to be ex-lovers, until Kabelo turned violent. He’s currently married to one of the most beautiful women in South Africa, by name, Gail Mabalane.

Yeah nhe, you’ve rebranded shem, your victim is still partially deaf …

This thing of giving abusers platforms doesn’t seat well with me.

The fact that men can abuse you one day and start a campaign against abuse the next, is actually a bit terrifying. No consequences, no jail time, just campaigns and handholding.

Kabelo Mabelane has been silent about what he did for over a decade but now that there’s a very lucrative abuser to activist pipeline, she’s taking “accountability”? I fucking hate it here.

The women in the comment section will forgive Deklerk and land thieves but they will never forgive a black man. They don’t want Land but they want a black man to be punished even if he is trying to build a better tomorrow and change what would be other people’s sad realities also.
