Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday, arrested a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.
It was gathered that the human rights lawyer was nabbed over alleged manipulation and forgery of documents.
He has been reportedly whisked to the Lagos Zonal Office of the anti-graft agency. When contacted by DAILY POST, the spokesman of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the report saying “he was arrested this evening”.
Meanwhile, sources said that the full details of the allegations against him were unclear but the spokesman for EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed Fani-Kayode’s arrest by operatives.
Wilson Uwujaren said “I think something like that happened,” he said and declined to comment further.
Fani-Kayode had been having a running battle with the EFCC for some time and he was once remanded for 67 days in 2016 alongside a former minister of finance, Nenadi Usman.
