JungKook reveals he originally wanted Ice Spice to feature on ‘Seven’ in new interview.

“We reached out to Ice’s team for this record first but her schedule is fully booked for the rest of the year…the label went with Latto.”

The new single marks the first collaboration between Jung Kook and Latto. When the news of the collaboration first broke, Latto tweeted “S/O to the Army,” alongside three “7” emojis, a simultaneous reference to the song’s title and her own jackpot imagery. The announcement adds to the “Big Energy” rapper’s banner year. Her Cardi B-assisted “Put It On Da Floor Again” hit No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, and she recently won best female hip-hop artist at the 2023 BET Awards.

The singer also previously became the new global ambassador for fashion brand Calvin Klein. The singer has since starred in a campaign for the brand’s Spring 2023 collection.

Earlier this month, BTS released the song ‘Take Two’. The track, which features all seven members of the boyband, is their first new music release since contributing the song ‘The Planet’ to the soundtrack of the South Korean animated series Bastions.

Next month, BTS are also set to release Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record of BTS, a book which the members co-wrote with journalist Myeongseok Kang. The group have since released a trailer for the book.

Starring Han So-hee as his on-screen girlfriend, the music video teaser finds Jung Kook engulfed in a heated exchange with her while out at a fancy dinner. A chandelier then falls from the ceiling, disrupting the other patrons while Jung Kook and Han So-hee remained locked in their argument. “Weight of the world on your shoulders/ I catch your waist and ease your mind,” Jung Kook croons over sultry guitar licks.

“Seven” is slated for a July 14 release to coincide with Jung Kook’s performance at Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series on the same day. Jung Kook’s last solo release was “Dreamers,” a song for the 2022 FIFA World Cup soundtrack that peaked at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales.

Jungkook’s label Big Hit Music had previously announced the upcoming release through the fan community platform Weverse on Junne 30.

In its press statement, Big Hit Music described the song as “an invigorating ‘summer song’ that is sure to have you experience the full breadth of Jungkook’s charm We hope that “Seven” will bring your summer fun to the next level.”
