A video is currently going viral, which captured the moment the yet-to-be-identified identified female student of University of Venda jumped from the third floor at her hostel.
Emergency services said they received reports of a female student threatening to jump from the third floor earlier this evening.
The female student whose identity is unknown at this stage locked herself in the room and jumped out of the building and sustaining critical injuries in the process.
Paramedics worked to stabilise the critical patient, she was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
