Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Jub Jub is the famous rapper who got arrested for rape and attempted murder.

TV presenter and rapper Jub Jub is due in Johannesburg magistrate’s court for rape, attempted murder, and assault charges.

Jub-Jub, born Molemo Maarohanye, handed himself over to the police in Brixton on Thursday after a warrant of arrest was issued against him.

Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed that the case is scheduled for Thursday in the magistrate’s court.

“Police can confirm that a well-known rapper handed himself over to the police in Brixton on Thursday, 27 July 2023, after a warrant of arrest was issued against him,” he said.

“He is expected to appear before the Johannesburg magistrate’s court today facing charges of rape, attempted murder and assault,”

It is not clear how and when the rapper, known for his popular Moja Love show Uyajola 99, committed the offences. 

Amanda alleges in the statement that Jub Jub contacted her through a mediator after he was released from jail for culpable homicide in 2017. They later met and this when the musician allegedly gave his apology.

“I met with him [Maarohanye], and asked him if he knew or acknowledged he had raped me. He said yes. I asked him why he raped me and all he could say was that he was sorry,” stated DuPont said in her statement.

Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo told TshisaLIVE that though he could confirm a rape case was opened on February 10, he was not at liberty to discuss the matter or share the suspect’s details as the matter was being investigated.

“There is a rape case opened on February 10 and it’ is under investigation. No arrests have been made so far,” he said.
