Johnny Depp donates all of Amber Heard $1 Million settlement money to charity.

In the aftermath of the Virginia defamation case between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, it has been confirmed that Heard’s $1 million settlement has been issued to Depp.

As per a report in People, a reliable source close to the actor revealed that Depp, who is 60, intends to distribute the payment among five carefully selected charities. She added, “It’s important for me to say that I never chose this. I defended my truth, and in doing so, my life as I knew it was destroyed. The vilification I have faced on social media is an amplified version of the ways women are re-victimized when they come forward.”

“Now I finally have an opportunity to emancipate myself from something I attempted to leave over six years ago, and on terms, I can agree to,” she wrote on social media. The charities that Depp has selected range from those that benefit sick children, conserving the environment and those that provide safe housing for underserved communities.

The charities include Make-A-Film (which pairs actors, writers, directors and producers with children who are battling life-threatening or serious illnesses), The Painted Turtle (an organization that is part of Paul Newman’s legacy and provides a life-changing free camp experience for sick children, inspiring them to reach beyond their illness), Red Feather (which partners with Indigenous communities to develop and implement lasting and impactful housing solutions), Teitaroa Society (Marlo Brando’s charity that ensures island and costal communities have a future), and Amazonia Fund Alliance (which helps to finance the projects of some of the most important Brazilian Non-profit organizations such as SPVS, SOS AMAZÔNIA, ALOK Institute).
