Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that J.Cole finally got his #1 hit song of his career with First Person Shooter by Drake.

Drake’s For All The Dogs is obviously sparking a lot of conversation, whether around the album itself or around Drizzy as an artist. While many fans seem very satisfied, including some typical doubters, it’s not all peaches and cream. For example, Joe Budden recently shared his thoughts on the project on The Joe Budden Podcast… multiple times, in fact, to emphasize the passion. During his remarks, though, it’s not like he completely dragged the Toronto superstar through the mud entirely. One comment that die-hards might be surprised by is that the former Everyday Struggle host labeled the 6 God as the “golden child.”

He continued, “I never want anybody in the generations to think that the whole “everybody’s entitled to their opinion” is a real thing…this is a man projecting his own self hate and the fact I did and continue to do everything he wanted to do for himself. If you need it put in simpler terms I own a 767…he owns a modest house in the 973 and flies first class on special occasions.”

Budden caught wind of Drake’s comments and responded: “You’ll grow up sooner or later… Father time is undefeated.”

Drake then gave advice to artists who are doing what they want to do regardless of what people think about them. According to the 36-year-old, Budden is the “poster child of frustration.”

“Pls to any artist that’s doing what they feel is right don’t let these opinions affect your mindset after the fact…this guy is the poster child of frustration and surrendering,” he wrote. “You retired and we never hung up your jersey we don’t even remember your number. We know you for doing this…you withdrew from rap not cause you accomplished all you need to it’s cause it wasn’t working for you.” 

Still, many of his issues seem to stem from Drake’s collaborators, who he’s associating himself with, and what he’s rapping about. A standout quote from his breakdown is the following: “I miss the Drake that was rapping for the rappers.” Joe Budden suggested that he shouldn’t be getting down with streamers like Kai Cenat and “rapping for the children.” Instead, the media commentator and MC believes that the 36-year-old should stick to topics and people more within his age group.

This particular moment holds special significance for the iconic single, as it has now spent 52 weeks, or precisely one year, on the chart. “Thriller” currently stands as the third-longest-charting title on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart, surpassed only by Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” with more than 400 weeks on the chart and John Legend’s “All of Me,” which has notched 126 turns on the list.

“Thriller” is performing even better on the more specific R&B Digital Song Sales chart. On that list, Jackson’s Thriller single is up to No. 4 after landing at No. 11 last time around.
