Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Instagram is reportedly working on a feature that will allow users to pick a ‘Profile Song,’ similar to MySpace. (Read More Here).
Instagram is now apparently working on a new feature: adding songs to your profile. It doesn’t appear to be something people are asking for but it’s coming anyway.
Mobile developer and reverse app engineer Alessandro Paluzzi recently shared his findings on Twitter, which he found after combing through the platform’s latest development code.
The update appears to allow you to pick a song to add to your profile, something that could represent who you are, your current mood, or your favorite song at the moment. This feature would be similar to MySpace’s ability to add songs.
“#Instagram is working on the ability to add a song to your profile”. “My @instagram stories keep repeating themselves. Like whenever someone posts a new story it makes me watch the whole thing all over again. Is that a problem for anyone else or is mine being weird. I tried logging out and deleting the app but it didn’t work.”
Another user said, “Can’t watch Instagram stories for a couple of days without getting a bit annoyed. They keep repeating themselves, and seems like it’s a platform issue? Is anyone else facing the same issue or is it just me? @instagram #Instagram #InstagramStories“
Instagram has yet to comment on the adding of their new leaked feature to add songs. Uploading tracks may be unlikely, as it could lead to copyright infringement – unless the songs are created by the users themselves. Linking a song from a streaming service, on the other hand, will require Instagram to partner up with providers such as Spotify, Deezer and so on. From the three aforementioned, it seems like the first and last speculations are probably the more feasible approaches.
