It’s alleged two armed men driving a VW Polo stormed into the tavern around 8.30pm on Saturday night and opened fire on patrons.
Two were killed on the scene and two died in hospital. Police have launched an investigation.
Ian Cameron and Sizwe Dhlomo have taken to their social media platforms to react to the mass shooting.
Ian Cameron wrote: “Apparently another 4 people killed in a tavern shooting in Pietermaritzburg in KZN.”
Sizwe Dhlomo wrote: “*Soweto Tavern Shooting claims 14 lives.
*4 people have died and 8 are in hospital in a Pietermaritzburg Tavern
*2 killed in katlehong Tavern
