Codes to link one’s National Identification Number (NIN) has been revealed by telecommunications operators, such as: MTN and Airtel. Glo and 9 Mobile haven’t revealed theirs yet.
Recall that yesterday, President Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad announced that NCC (Nigerian Communications Commission) has given order to telecommunications operators in Nigeria to block SIM cards not registered with National ID. (Read More Here).
Taking to his Twitter page, Bashir Ahmad, revealed how Nigerians can link their NINs to MTN and Airtel without physical contact/visit with the network operator workers
Now, you can link your NIN to your MTN and Airtel from the comfort of your zone without stress. All you need do, simply dial *121# or *121*1# for Airtel users only and *785# for MTN users only.
“For those using Airtel as network provider, dial *121# to submit your National Identification Number (NIN) for verification and subsequent link to your number. For MTN, dial *785# or visit their website to do so. As we move fast towards a #DigitalNigeria, kindly share for others,” Bashir tweeted.
