Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that The X-Men are ‘off the table’ from appearing in What If until they make their live-action MCU debut.

The X-Men’s Krakoan Era is coming to a close starting this January, with two intertwined series, Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X. The two five-issue limited comic titles will give readers the gripping conclusion of the mutant’s fight against extinction from Orchis with stories set in both the present and the future.

The X-Men’s survival depends on their battle with Orchis, but Fall of the House of X #3 teases that the fight won’t be over, yet, saying, “Unfortunately, just when it seems like one threat is over…another rises to take its place.” Rise of the Powers of X #3 keeps the tension building, as “the past, present and future of Krakoa all rests in a trigger finger.” Marvel has also given fans a glimpse of the action to come in the third issues of both series, unveiling the cover art for both issues ahead of their release in March.

If this is what she has planned for young hero Armor, readers can only hold their collective breath in anticipation, assuming Momoko has even darker plans in mind for the adult X-Men in the Ultimate universe. Having become one of Marvel’s signature artistic stars in the past few years, Peach Momoko is an absolutely perfect choice to helm the new Ultimate X-Men.
