Reports have surfaced on social media and among influencers suggesting that President Cyril Ramaphosa has been admitted to the Military Hospital in Pretoria.
This comes after the National Spokesperson for the ANC, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri, announced that Ramaphosa had canceled scheduled appearances at a church service in Mbombela and an ANC cadres forum in Bushbuckridge.
Mahlengi cited pressing emergency matters as the reason for Ramaphosa’s absence and stated that ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile would be acting on his behalf at all party activities. The public is eagerly awaiting a statement from the Presidency regarding the president’s schedule, whereabouts, and the nature of the emergency matters he’s addressing.
“A malicious rumour has been doing the rounds about the President’s health and that he has been hospitalised.
“I spoke to him this morning, the President is fine, he was never hospitalised, and there was no emergency. He attended a meeting and decided to spend the rest of the day at home ahead of a busy week,” Magwenya said.
Members of the media were enquiring if the ANC NEC had possibly taken a decision against former President Jacob Zuma for his support of the Umkhonto weSizwe party (MK).
