Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Fredo will spend 5 years in Dubai jail for weed possession.
Bailey, from London, released No1 hit Toxic Trait with Stormzy this summer that they then performed together at Glastonbury festival.
The father-of-one, 29, is believed to have been held in the Dubai jail since September, when he was allegedly caught hiding drugs on his person.
The sentence for this crime in Dubai – which has a strict zero tolerance for drugs-related offences – can be up to several years.
Radha Stirling, CEO of advocacy organisation Detained In Dubai, told The Sun: “The most likely outcome for possession of cannabis would be one to two years in prison, it could be up to three years”.
According to multiple sources online the hearing has finished, and Fredo has been given a five year prison sentence in Dubai.
Shocked fans have expressed their distress on social media. Writer and commentator Jude Blay wrote simply: “Fredo got sentenced to 5 years in prison in Dubai. Five years.”
@tlninetyfour added: “Fredo got sentenced to 5 years in Dubai jail? Yikes.”
Real name Marvin Bailey, Fredo has courted controversy in the past but remains one of UK rap’s MVPs. Topping the charts with a Stormzy collaboration, he created history by teaming up alongside Dave on ‘Funky Friday.
