"I'm here to help you" – Davido reaches out to youth with suicidal thought

Nigerian singer, Davido, has reached out to a Nigerian youth who has suicidal thought. According to Davido, he says he’s here to help to the young and vibrant Nigerian guy. 

Taking to his Instagram page, a Nigerian youth, Riddie Jamaal, revealed that he’s having a thought to commit suicide. He also shared a video of an illicit drug which isn’t all that good. 

Jamaal’s message went viral and it caught Davido’s attention. Taking to his Instagram story, Davido says even though he doesn’t know him personally, he’s still here to help him. He also encouraged people to reach out to him and make him happy. 

Jamaal wrote: “Remember no one cares. 

This is dedicated to everyone battling with depression and other mental illness.

Stay strong, we can beat this.

You know what they say about life

In my deepest misery I found solace

The strength to live

The strength to love

The strength to breathe

The strength to smile

I found meaning

I found my purpose

I’ve learnt how to embrace my flaws

And how my imperfections make me original

I’ve found my identity

And the true meaning to stay alive

I’m learning fight my demons

And to find quiet amidst all noise

To find peace amidst the chaos

To accept love from the unusual places

I love me and I choose to live.”
