ChristineKing is being hailed a hero after she stepped in to save a baby being held over a freeway overpass in Philadelphia.
Christine says that she was on her way to work on Thursday when she witnessed the terrifying incident. She says a man was fighting with a woman and then tried to throw the baby over the overpass. Christine says she hit the brakes, left her car on the highway, and ran towards the couple to help.
When officers arrived, the child’s father, later identified as #RaheemMurphy, engaged in a brief standoff. According to the District Attorney, after returning the child to safety, Raheem resisted arrest and assaulted the state police trooper before being taken into custody.
Investigators say the incident began with a domestic dispute. Raheem allegedly pulled a gun on the mother of his child, kidnapped the woman and baby, then drove them to the overpass where he threatened to kill the child. Raheem is facing numerous charges including aggravated assault, kidnapping, and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held on $1.5 million bail, and must undergo a mental health evaluation.
