Giovani, considered one of Brazil’s best prospects, will leave Palmeiras at the age of 19 to join Qatar side Al-Sadd. 




Transfer fee €9m. Al-Sadd SC announced the signing of Brazilian player Giovani Henrique from Palmeiras to join the first team until summer 2028.On its website, the club unveiled the signing of Henrique on a five-year deal starting from the 2023-24 season.Al-Sadd SC had announced the signing of Colombian player Mateus Uribe from Portuguese club Porto, on a three-year deal, as well as the signing of Brazilian player Paulo Otavio from German club Wolfsburg, on a three-year deal, and the signing of Iranian defender Amin Hazbavi coming from the Iranian club Foolad Khuzestan, on a five-year contract.



Although Giovani is one of the big names in the Alviverde base recently, he has not established himself under the command of Abel Ferreira. The boy has 35 matches for the professional team of Palmeiras, in addition to two goals and five assists. He played in the under-20 World Cup for the Brazilian national team, was reinstated in the Verdão group, but it was known that he was one of the most sought after players in the international market in the squad.


 Palmeiras expects to raise BRL 182 million in player sales in 2023. By April, the club had already raised BRL 104.1 million in negotiations and needed to do more business.


Giovani is 19 years old and has played 35 games for the Palmeiras professional, adding two goals and four assists in that period. He was still a substitute in the dispute of the last under-20 World Cup, in Argentina. At Al-Sadd, he will play alongside Brazilians Rodrigo Tabata, formerly of Santos, and Guilherme, formerly of Corinthians, as well as Spanish Santi Cazorla, formerly of Arsenal.
