Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis fears for her life after receiving death threats from Young Thug’s fans.
Willis indicted Young Thug, Gunna, and 26 others on RICO racketeering violations and gang activity on May 9.
Willis said Young Thug and the members of his Young Slime Life (YSL) gang were responsible for 80% of murders and gun violence across Atlanta.
She told Channel 2 Action News that she increased her security and is taking extra measures to protect her family due to death threats.
“I’m much more cautious than I’ve ever been in my life, paying more attention to my surroundings” Willis said. “It’s required for me to stay alive.”
She said the death threats are coming from fans who are “sympathetic” of the people who were indicted.
“We don’t believe that these threats were directed by anyone that is in the YSL indictment,” Willis said. “I would say that (threats are from) people that are very sympathetic, maybe admirers of YSL and people who are connected with them in some sense.”
One suspect gave instructions on how to locate Willis’ Atlanta area home, leading to increased police patrols at her home and license plate readers installed nearby.
Additionally, she is receiving harsh comments from Donald Trump supporters after she announced a special grand jury is investigating whether the former President interfered in the presidential elections in Georgia in 2020.
Willis is taking all threats very seriously. Her extensive security detail is a joint effort between the City of South Fulton, the Atlanta Police Department, the Fulton County Police Department and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, according to Channel 2 Action News.
