CNN has released a never-before-seen video recorded on Jan. 6 showing a heated House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warning that if then-President Donald Trump marches on the US Capitol, she would put the paws on him.
The clip that was aired Thursday and provided by her daughter, opened with Pelosi in her office watching the one-term president delivering a speech during his “Save America” rally, in which he talked about the election results and and urged his supporters to “walk down to the Capitol.”
In the clip, Pelosi tells her aids that “it’s very dangerous what he’s doing.” She then says “if he [Trump] comes here, we’re going to the White House.” While looking out the window onto the Mall she notices a large crowd of Trump’s supporters:
“They’re marching up.” From there, her Chief of Staff Terry McCullough informs her that the Secret Service had stopped Trump from coming to Capitol Hill because they do not have the resources to protect him there. However, she believed that he would try his best to show up.
“If he comes, I’m gonna punch him out,” a Pelosi says. “I’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on the Capitol grounds. I’m gonna punch him out, and I’m gonna go to jail and I’m gonna be happy.”
