Kelechi Ndukwe has become the first Nigerian-American man to be the Commander of U.S Navy Guided Missile Destroyer. The trust around him was high and that led to this incredible appointment.

1.Ndukwe is the first Nigerian-American captain of a Navy ship.
2. Kelechi also served at the Pentagon in Washington D.C
3. He graduated from Notre Dame and the U.S Naval War College.
4. Kelechi Ndukwe is the Commander of a U.S Navy Guided Missile Destroyer.
5. He received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Taking to Twitter, the administrator of the U.S Mission Nigeria congratulated Kelechi Ndukwe on his new appointment. The message reads:
“Kudos to Kelechi Ndukwe on his new role as commander of a U.S. Navy Guided Missile Destroyer. The University of Notre Dame and the U.S. Naval War College alumnus becomes the first Nigerian-American captain of a U.S. Navy ship. Congratulations!”
