FIRST EVER ZAMBIAN BACHELOR’S STUDENT TO GRADUATE IN NUCLEAR ENGINEERING FROM ITMO UNIVERSITY. 

Nyambe Claude (’23) recently earned a degree in Nuclear Engineering and Thermal Physics from Saint Petersburg State University of Information Technology Mechanics and Optics. His four years at ITMO University culminated in him becoming the first Zambian to receive a bachelor’s degree in his faculty.

In terms of educational quality in Russia, ITMO University was ranked first by Forbes in 2020. At this university, only the top applicants in particular fields are admitted. Claude was accepted to ITMO University thanks to his exceptional math abilities. He served as Saint Petersburg’s city representative for the Zambian embassy in 2020/21.

“It’s a posh university. We used to solve our laboratories on university iMacs, view atoms at their smallest scales with VR headsets, play FIFA 21 on PlayStation 5 and Fortnite during breaks, and do a variety of other things. It should be noted that all of these efforts were carried out by my university. I am thankful to Google, my friends, People who believed in me, my family, and, most especially, my mother and late father.”
