A health practitioner has said that HIV figures in Nigeria, especially from Ibeju-Lekki axis, are becoming alarming and scary. His report is for 2021 alone.
Reaching out to Kossyderrickent to create awareness over the increasing rate of HIV, he says Covid-19 has taken the spotlight away from other deadly diseases. He says that the last medical outreach done in Ibeju-Lekki, over 48 cases of HIV were reported.
He said: “The HIV figures we have been getting from Lagos this year are getting alarming, especially Ibeju-Lekki axis.
And these are new cases not old clients. Seems like COVID 19 has taken the spotlight away from other diseases.
Our last medical outreach in Ibeju Lekki, we had about 48 cases, we reported the cases to the relevant authorities, not sure anything has been done and that was 2 years ago.”
