Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that CAF and FIFA health specialists warned Raphael Dwamena to quit football in 2019 & 2021 due to his heart condition buh he never listened before he fainted and died in football field.
There were repeated calls for Dwamena to retire from football, including from respected Ghanian doctor Dr. Prince Pambo, who in November 2021, shortly after Dwamena collapsed in Austria, called on the forward to consider calling time on his playing career.

Raphael Dwamena, who played for the Ghana international football team, has died at the age of 28 after collapsing during a match, the Ghana Football Association announced.
“Our thoughts are with the family of Raphael Dwamena at this difficult time,” the association said in a statement.
“Raphael represented Ghana wholeheartedly and paid his dues to the country until his unfortunate passing. We will forever miss him for his dedication to the National Coarse. Dwamena didn’t heed the calls and, in 2023, looked to Albanian Superliga club FK Egnatia to restart his blighted career. Things had been looking up for the talented striker, who had scored 20 times in 28 games, firing his club to the top of the table.
But on Saturday, November 11, midway through the first half of a game between Albania’s top two clubs, Dwamena collapsed and died – with his ICD unable to save him this time. While no official details have been released on Dwamena’s death, video appears to show him collapsing on Saturday in the 24th minute of an Albanian top division match between Dwamena’s team KF Egnatia and Partizani.
Video footage posted to X, formerly Twitter, shows Dwamena collapsing on the pitch, before players from both teams rushed to his side. He was then attended to by medical personnel as an ambulance was brought onto the pitch.
Dwamena previously collapsed in October 2021 during a match between his then team Blau-Weiß Linz and Hartberg in the Austrian Cup, but recovered and returned to action.
During his career, Dwamena played for clubs in Spain, Switzerland, Austria and Denmark.
Levante, one of Dwamena’s former teams, paid tribute to the forward. However, Dwamena’s career was held back by a heart condition that was first diagnosed in 2017. In that year, a £10 million (€11.4 million) move to Premier League club Brighton fell through when he failed a medical based on his heart issues.
In 2020, while at Spanish club Levante, he was fitted with an implantable cardiovascular-defibrillator (ICD), the type that was fitted to Christian Eriksen after his cardiac arrest on the field in 2021, and has been fitted to other players with heart conditions.
The ICD allowed Levante’s club doctors to monitor his heart during games. in October 2020, following a move to Danish club Vejle Boldklub, he was stopped from taking to the pitch after his ICD showed values that were considered too high.
