The family of Fasasi has announced the death of its son and Nigerian legendary singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known as, Sound Sultan. (Read More Here).



According to information reaching Kossyderrickent, Sound Sultan died of throat cancer. Recall that in May 2021, it was reported that the singer was battling with throat cancer and had commenced treatment in the United States of America. 


He was aged 44 and he is survived by his wife, three children and other family members. He gained fame in Nigeria after the release of his hit song in 2000, titled, “Jangbajantis.”


Chemotherapy is an aggressive form of chemical drug therapy meant to destroy rapidly growing cells in the body. It’s usually used to treat cancer, as cancer cells grow and divide faster than other cells. 


The family of Fasasi revealed:


“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi, A.K.A,Sound Sultan. He passed away at the age of 44, following a hard fought battle with angioimmunoblastic T-Cell lymphoma. He is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings. We, his family will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss.
