Boinnet’s resignation comes a day after the Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua directed all public officers seeking elective posts to hand over notes to respective authorities by Tuesday, 9th February.
The Elections Act stipulates that aspirants seeking elective positions should vacate their offices at least six months before the General Elections.
Biography of Joseph Boinett:
Joseph Boinett joins politics to run for Elgeyo Marakwet Gubernatorial seat.
He is a former Inspector General of the National Police Service of the Republic of Kenya. Prior to his appointment, he served in the Kenyan National Intelligence Service.
He is a holder of an International Studies and Diplomacy degree from the Washington International University, an unaccredited institution in the British Virgin Islands. He replaced David Kimaiyo.
