Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Wayne Rooney isn’t here for Kylian Mbappe’s unnecessary unnecessary ego (pride).
Mbappe chose to renew his Paris Saint-Germain contract in May, snubbing interest from Real Madrid after flirting with the Spanish side for over a year.
Mbappe clearly wants to be the main man in Paris, and this was evident from a few incidents in his first appearance of the season on Saturday.
In the fashion of a seven-year-old, the 23-year-old France forward threw a bit of a tantrum when one of his teammates did not give him the ball.
Vitinha instead passed to Messi during a counter-attack, and as a result, Mbappe wanted nothing to do with that pattern of play.
The former Derby County manager said that Mbappe’s ego is the biggest he has ever seen and that someone needs to remind him that Messi had four Ballon d’Or honours by the time he was 23 years old.
“A player of 22 or 23 who deliberately shoulders Messi… I’ve never seen such a big ego in my entire life,” Rooney said.
“Someone remind Mbappe that Messi already had four Ballon d’Ors at his age.”
Translated version: “Wayne Rooney: “Someone remind Mbappe that at 22, Messi had 4 Ballon D’Ors.”
