The Dubb’s BBQ that dropped the statement is located in California.
Dubb’s BBQ wrote: “At Dubb’s BBQ, we believe in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals. We strive to provide excellent service and delicious food to everyone who walks through our doors. However, we also recognize that certain circumstances may arise where we reserve the right to refuse service. We exercise this right in accordance with local and federal laws, ensuring that any refusal of service is based on specific reasons such as disruptive behavior or violation of our establishment policies or beliefs. Therefore Dubb’s BBQ will no longer be serving the transgender/transvestite community as their malicious agenda does not correlate with this team.”
This event called, “BQQing While Black,” is a nod to a troubling incident.
Cell phone video went viral last year when a woman nicknamed “Barbeque Becky” called Oakland Police on two black men barbecuing by the lake in an area where it was not allowed.
“This young lady came by and got irate with me that I was illegally barbecuing in the park with charcoal,” said Onsayo Abram.
