After winning the top prize with her badminton mixed doubles partner Zheng Siwei in Paris on Aug. 2, the Team China Olympian found herself saying “Yes” to a very important question as fellow teammate Liu Yuchen got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
“I cannot describe the feeling I have because I am happy, happy, happy,” Huang told Olympics.com. “Getting the gold medal is recognition of our journey.
He declared, “I’ll love you forever! Will you marry me?” Huang joyfully responded, “Yes! I do!” Liu then placed the engagement ring on Huang’s finger, and the couple embraced in celebration.
