Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Doja Cat loses 200,000 followers on Instagram after called ‘grumpy’ by Charli XCX for saying she doesn’t love her fans.
Following recent online behaviour, Doja Cat lost over 200k Instagram followers in a matter of 24 hours.With her most recent outburst regarding her fans coining an unofficial fan nickname, Doja Cat has angered her fanbase.
The Purrr rapper lashed out at her fans who referred to themselves as “Kittenz” over the weekend. She further criticised her fanbase in a string of since-deleted tweets in which she urged them to put down their phones. Her admirers were not pleased with the rapper’s stern response, and they started to doubt and rebel the singer of the Say So song. “My fans don’t get to name themselves s***,” Doja Cat began her online outburst.
However, the rap star knows that she needs to dedicate meaningful time to her ambitions.
She said: “It’s just not realistic and it’s not fun, to be honest, when you have to rush through things. So that is something I definitely want to do, but I want to do it only. So I would take a break from music.”
In response, Doja said: “nobody forced you idk why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother b**** you sound like a crazy person. (sic)”
After her outburst, many fans jumped ship and unfollowed the rap star on Twitter. According to The Independent, some even went as far as deactivating their accounts.
Meanwhile, Doja previously admitted to being inspired by Nicki Minaj, whose fans are often referred to as Barbz. For those who don’t know, Doja Cat gave her fans the unofficial moniker in the beginning of her rap career. Fans were rather surprised by the severe response, for this reason. When one of them confronted the artist, she defended making up the identity when she was just “an alcoholic teen.”Doja responded, “Just delete the entire account and rethink everything. It’s never too late.”
Her supporters are now furious with her because of how she is acting; in only one day, she lost around 200k Instagram followers and faced criticism from users.
Doja’s comments were subsequently questioned by one of her fans, who pointed out that they’ve supported her “through thick and thin”.
