Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Stefan Ortega Moreno did filthy Cruyff turn on Jean-Philippe Mateta under dribble pressure.
A panic-filled sequence in the City box saw Rodri pass back to his goalkeeper, but he did not see Jean-Philippe Mateta lurking next to Ortega. The German shot-stopper raced off his line to just about beat the Eagles striker to the ball, before delivering an expert Cruyff turn under pressure to get himself out of trouble and deny a Palace lead.
TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher gushed over the skill, saying: “Talk about being calm under pressure. Brilliant. I mean he really is in a hole when the ball gets there.”
Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson was caught spitting and picking his nose on the bench during his side’s 4-2 win away to Crystal Palace – and the TNT Sports commentary joked he would be banned from their coverage as a result. The Brazilian, who did not start after picking up an injury against Liverpool last month, watched on as Stefan Ortega deputised ably in his absence.
