Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Journalist, Ashutosh Negi, arrested under SC ST act for demanding justice for late Ankita Bhandari who was murdered by Pulkit Arya.
Negi now faces allegations under the SC/ST Act, compounded by charges stemming from an altercation with police officers during his arrest. DGP Kumar emphasized that Negi’s arrest was due to his consistent dissemination of provocative statements without evidence, potentially jeopardizing the case’s integrity. The investigation also extends to the role of police personnel in spreading rumors, with assurances of strict action against any officer found guilty.
Ankita Bhandari’s body was discovered in the Chilla canal in Rishikesh on September 24, following a six-day search after her disappearance. The case, which has gripped the state of Uttarakhand, involves Pulkit Arya, the son of an expelled BJP leader, and two others who were arrested for allegedly causing Bhandari’s death after a confrontation. The Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Deputy Inspector General of Police P Renuka Devi, continues its inquiry into the case, seeking to unravel the circumstances leading to Bhandari’s untimely death.
Ashutosh Negi, the operator of a news portal, has been apprehended by Uttarakhand Police for attempting to instill distrust in the public towards the government and the police, particularly regarding the Ankita Bhandari murder case.
Uttarakhand Director General of Police, Abhinav Kumar, disclosed that Negi, arrested on March 5, was involved in creating mistrust by making provocative statements despite the ongoing trial.
Negi already faces charges under the SC/ST Act, and a new case has been registered against him for a scuffle with the police during his arrest.
DGP Kumar assured the government’s complete freedom for an impartial investigation, emphasizing the commitment to justice for Ankita Bhandari.
