Dermatologists claim you should only shower 2-3 times a week.

As the camera highlighted Roker’s hilarious expression, Brach burst into laughter. She began to explain that “it depends on the person, your lifestyle, your skin type…,” when Roker interjected. “Lifestyle?!” he questioned.

Although Brach then told him that “at the end of the day, it’s all personal preference,” Roker still wouldn’t have it. “Not if you come in contact with other people!” he exclaimed.

Dreyer guessed that people should bathe five times a week, while Jones and Roker opted for every day. The 68-year-old host was adamant about his choice of daily showers. “I don’t care what they say,” he said.

Brach then revealed that dermatologists recommend people shower two to three times a week.

She then explained the skin expert’s reasoning behind the number but couldn’t ignore that Roker’s facial expression was a mix of shock and disgust.

Brach then revealed that dermatologists recommend that people shower only two to three times per week, eventually citing skin health as likely the primary reason for this statistic.

Jones was stunned by the statistic as well, exclaiming, “there are seven days in the week!”

“It does depend on the person,” she continued. “I’m looking at Al’s face, like, ‘What is this?’” “The consensus is two to three times per week, but it does depend on the person. I’m looking at Al’s face like, ‘What is this?’” she said. “It depends on the person, your lifestyle, your skin time, your age, your activity level, as well.”

Roker was not buying the lifestyle explanation causing Brach to explain sedentary lifestyles may not require as much showering as someone who “has a labourious job.”

The host continued her spill on reduced showers stating that it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Jones ultimately got on board with the dermatologists’ consensus, understanding that this is “for the sake of our skin,” while Roker wasn’t so easily swayed, insisting, “I shower twice a day.”

And honestly, he’s in good company! Dwayne Johnson seems to take Roker’s approach, deeming himself “the opposite of a ‘not washing themselves’ celeb” in an August 2021 Twitter debate.
