Delta court remands dismissed Police Inspector in prison for allegedly k#lling phone dealer over N100 bribe
Dismissed Nigerian Police Inspector, Ebri Ubi, has been remanded in prison for allegedly k#lling a phone dealer, Mr. Onyeka Ibe, at a checkpoint in Asaba, Delta State.
The suspect, who reportedly shot and k#lled the deceased for refusing to give him a bribe of N100 on April 5, was arraigned on Wednesday morning, April 19, before a Magistrate Court sitting in Asaba, the state capital.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, in a statement said: “The Command wishes to inform members of the public as promised that the said Police Inspector has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) after the conclusion of the orderly room trial at the state headquarters in Asaba.
The dismissed inspector was on Wednesday arraigned before an Asaba Magistrate Court on a remand proceeding for the m¥rder of Onyeka Ibe.
The court ordered that the suspect be remanded at the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Centre while the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice and pros£cution of the suspect by the office of the DPP.”
